We have made a number of changes across Online Booking, Gift Vouchers, Client Login, Waitlists and the Shopify order import to consolidate the way we display, capture and store mobile and email data. This will simplify and resolve a number of issues when trying to match to an existing customer. These changes will result in more matches and less duplicate clients being created with sub-standard or incorrect details.
One key change is that online bookings will now always show the country code at the start of the input to make it clear that this prefix shouldn’t be included.
If your clients do try to use irrelevant characters we will remove them or sometimes display an error, as this is a common cause of duplicate profiles when the customer adds a note to the number for example “021123456 – evenings only” or “+6421123456”.
Note: We’d like to point out that this will improve the matching of clients and reduce duplicate profiles significantly, but will not eradicate duplicates entirely, which may still be created for appropriate reasons.
