Appointment scheduling and business management software company Timely secures a win at the 2016 New Zealand International Business Awards as the best emerging business for 2016, alongside finalist Haka Tours.
The awards, run by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and in their 50th year, celebrate the success and determination of some of New Zealand’s finest businesses and their ability to achieve outstanding results on a global scale.
Category finalists, including Delta Strike International, Volpara Health Technologies and Haka Tours, provided stiff competition to the four-year-old SaaS startup, who attribute their joint win to having a steadfast global mindset from day one.
Founded in 2012, Timely currently serves over 6500 businesses in more than 85 countries worldwide, wIth a growing staff of 32 remote employees based in Dunedin, Wellington, Auckland and the UK.
Ryan Baker, CEO and co-founder, talks about the Kiwi culture as a driving force behind their passion and determination to go global. “As Kiwis we think globally from day one. He goes on to advise other start-ups to , “design your business so that attracting and retaining a customer works just as well in New York as it does in New Lynn.”
Mr Baker is thrilled with the win. It comes at a time when the company is executing on plans to drive growth in international markets with a focus on Australia, the UK and the US, on the back of launching their new native iOS app and becoming an Apple mobility partner.
